List of transitional WLAs for medical devices

Overview

The transitional WHO Listed Authorities (tWLA) for medical devices is an interim arrangement providing a practical bridge to recognize authorities with established regulatory performance while the full WLA pathway for medical devices is being finalized.

This time limited transitional list of national or regional regulatory authorities is established to support and facilitate regulatory reliance on medical devices. It is part of the transformation from the term Stringent Regulatory Authorities (SRAs) to WHO-Listed Authorities (WLAs) for regulatory oversight of medical products, including medical devices.

A regulatory authority will transition from the tWLA list to the permanent WLA list upon successfully completing the evaluation process, and the tWLA list will be updated accordingly.
