Healthy recipes for food at sports events

Sports events are an ideal setting to model and promote healthy eating as part of a healthy lifestyle. WHO and the Ministry of Public Health, Qatar, produced a series of healthier recipes for sports events, analyzed and benchmarked against WHO guidance and core principles of healthy diets. These recipes can be incorporated into the food and beverage menus in and around stadia, making them healthier. The target audience for this initiative are sports event organizers, food businesses and concessionaires.

The recipes are part of a new joint publication titled ‘Healthier food and healthier food environments at sports events’. As there is growing evidence of the demand for healthier menu options in and around stadia, this action guide provides a tool for organizers who wish to be the driving force in delivering healthier food and healthier food environments, for their fans.
